Summer Camp at BEC teaches students to maximize the potential of each horse he or she rides, whether it is a school horse or a show horse.
Our small camps are designed to introduce the disciplines of dressage, show jumping and eventing. This allows the student to gain a greater understanding of the sport while increasing their overall ability to ride. International students have a wonderful opportunity to practice their English in an environment where French, Spanish and Arabic are also spoken.
The program also introduces the student to many related concepts including, breeding, imprinting, land management, first aid and nutrition. This allows students to develop an “eye” and enhances their overall ability to communicate with horses.
Each student takes 2 riding lessons daily – one in the morning and one in the afternoon and participates in non-riding horse-related activities.
The program includes hiking, volleyball, frisbee, golf and badminton.
Students learn about living off the land eating vegetables from the garden and collecting eggs from the hen house. Our goal is to teach the student that an athletic lifestyle leads to a more balanced and capable rider.
The number or students varies every year: we had summer camps in the past with 4-10 participants. The optimal number is 6 to offer individualized training to each student according to their ability.
BEC specializes in training for show-jumping, eventing and dressage.
